Breyer of the Month
Trigger- Roy Rodger's Horse
Trigger was often billed as "the smartest horse in the movies" during his
heyday with singing cowboy Roy Rogers. Though Rogers was the real star of
the show, Trigger became a popular public figure right along with him. The
pair starred in dozens of westerns in the 1930s and 1940s; Trigger even
shared the title in two, My Pal Trigger (1946) and Trigger, Jr. (1950).
(Rogers's wife and co-star Dale Evans had her own favorite horse,
Buttermilk.) Born in 1932, he lived until 1965! Movie walk of Fame
at Mann's Chinese Theatre formally called Grahamn's Chinese Theatre
in Hollywood California Ceremonies where held for Roy Roger & Trigger
on April 21, 1949, where you can see his "hoof" print. There was a second
Trigger called Trigger II, he wasn't by the first and he was a Tennessee
Walker.
Cupid and Arrow.
A real life story about how Cupid was rescued and she surprises everybody by
giving birth to a foal with an arrow on his butt around Valentine's Day. She
was saved by Buck Kalinowski, and he called her Cupid because of the heart
shape on her forhead. Little did he know the mare was keeping a loving
secret from him. Just before Valentine's Day she gave birth to a healthy
colt, which has an Arrow marking on his butt. They have been to Breyerfest,
Ripley's Believe It or Not, Animal Miracles and Equine Affaire in Mass.
There is even a book written by Buck Kalinowski, called Cupid's Secret
