Miva Merchant 2.21 Release Note Miva Merchant 2.21, released July 26, 2000, adds the following functionality: I. German Translation Miva Merchant 2.21 is available in a German language version. Because Miva Merchant now support German merchants, we have added the following payment and tax modules: A. German Payment Processing The following payment methods have been added to the German version of Miva Merchant 2.21. BANKEINZUG - Electronic funds transfer where the customer needs to supply four values: 1. Kontoinhaber (account owner if different from buyer) 2. Kontonummer (account number) 3. Bankleitzahl (bank-code) 4. Bank (bank name) VORAUSKASSE - The customer prints out an order form and mails it to the merchant along with payment. NACHNAHMEN - This is a COD method of payment. ÜBERWEISUNG - The customer receives the printed invoice with the ordered products, then submits payment electronically. CyberCash 2.1.2de - As of Miva Merchant 2.21 connecting to the CyberCash server via SSL is supported. B. German VAT Module Provides calculation of the German Value Added Tax. German VAT has multiple categories of products. Each category is assigned a rate, which may change from time to time. Shipping is taxed at the rate at which the highest dollar amount of products is taxed. There is a checkbox that allows the merchant to indicate that their product prices already have VAT applied. If checked, VAT (on products) are reverse-calculated and displayed, but not included in the total. II. Customer Logout In the "Account" information screen, customers will now be able to click on a button to log out. III. CyberCash The CyberCash module ensures that order has a unique order number during authorization. IV. Invoice Changes The date and time the order was taken has been added to the invoice. V. Sales Tax Calculation Shipping charges are now calculated before tax. Therefore tax may now be charged to shipping charges. Each shipping module has a method for you to designate whether tax is to be charged to shipping costs. VI. Support for Updated UPS Protocol The UPS Shipping Module has be modified to support version 1.2 of the UPS protocol. UPS will no longer support the existing version as of Sept. 30, 2000. The new shipping module requires the UPSRSS commerce library which is distributed with Miva Engine 3.72.
